Why Choose a Weight-Controlled Bulk Filling Machine?

Filling IBCs, drums and jerrycans by hand or by eye wastes product, creates spills and leaves you guessing about the true weight. A weight-controlled filling machine places the container on a scale and fills to an exact target weight, then stops automatically. You get accurate fills, less giveaway and a safer, cleaner process for your operators.

Benefits:

  • Accurate by weight: Load cells measure what is actually in the container, so every fill hits the target.

  • Less waste and giveaway: Coarse and fine fill stages stop precisely at the set weight.

  • Safer filling: Reduced splashing, drips and operator contact with the product.

  • Flexible: Fill jerrycans, drums and IBCs on the same station with the right nozzle and platform.

  • Handles tough liquids: Options for viscous, corrosive and flammable products.

  • Built for industry: Stainless steel or chemical-resistant parts, built to last in harsh environments.

How a Weight-Controlled Filler Works

  1. Place the empty container on the weighing platform and insert the filling nozzle.

  2. Select the product recipe and target weight on the touchscreen, then press start.

  3. The machine fills quickly at first, then slows to finish precisely at the target weight.

  4. The fill stops automatically. Remove the nozzle and the filled container.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an IBC and drum filling machine?
It is a machine that fills intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), drums and jerrycans with liquid. Most models weigh the container as it fills, so the machine stops at the exact target weight.

What is the difference between weight-controlled and volume filling?
Volume filling measures how much liquid is dispensed. Weight-controlled filling measures what actually ends up in the container, which is more accurate for large containers and for liquids whose density changes with temperature.

How accurate is a drum or IBC filling machine?
Accuracy depends on the scales, the product and the container size, and is typically within ±0.2%. We can run a test fill with your product to confirm.

Can one machine fill drums, IBCs and jerrycans?
Yes. With the right nozzle, platform and settings, one station can fill several container types. Tell us your container sizes and we'll recommend a setup.

Can you fill flammable or corrosive liquids?
Yes. We offer explosion-proof IECEx options for flammable liquids and chemical-resistant materials for corrosive products. Tell us the product so we can specify the right build.

Can it fill thick liquids like oils and resins?
Yes. Gear or lobe pumps, heated lines and wide-bore nozzles handle viscous products. Give us the viscosity when you request a quote.

How much does an IBC or drum filling machine cost?
Price depends on the container types, level of automation, safety requirements and options. Request a quote with your product and target output, and we will send a price within 1 business days. Equipment rentals are also available.

Do you offer installation, training and shipping?
Yes. We provide setup, operator training, spare parts and 12 months warranty with every machine, and we ship Australia wide
